Electric vehicle (EV) drivers in Michigan\u2019s multifamily residences can now look forward to a powerful new incentive designed to make home charging more accessible, equitable, and affordable. The Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE) has launched the <\/span>Clean Fuel & Charging Infrastructure Program<\/b>, a game-changing grant opportunity aimed at accelerating the deployment of Level 2 AC EV charging stations at multifamily housing units across the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

Whether you’re a property owner, developer, or housing authority, this program offers a unique opportunity to future-proof your property, support Michigan\u2019s climate goals, and provide residents with convenient at-home EV charging.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s the Incentive?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Through this program, EGLE is offering <\/span>up to $300,000 per project<\/b> in grant funding, with <\/span>$5 million<\/b> available overall. The program supports the full cost of deploying non-public Level 2 EV charging infrastructure at multifamily properties\u2014including make-ready upgrades, charger hardware, installation, maintenance contracts, and networking services.<\/span><\/p>\n

Best of all?<\/b> No cost match is required for projects located in environmental justice communities, as identified using the EPA\u2019s EJScreen tool. For all other applicants, a 30% cost match is required.<\/span><\/p>\n
